Today's life happening update

Arwen & Aragorn Tribute - Siuil A Run

Ok, I got paint chips in my hair, between my toes and feels like a couple up the nose. Not happy about it, but what can you do?

Anyhows, the middle spare room has been officially scraped, mould n' stain bleached, patched, washed down and patched again, vacuumed as well as the painter's tape is finished as of five minutes ago.

All this so we can just paint. Whew!

Will prime tomorrow morning, give everything (last bit of plaster touch-up) chance to dry.

Two notes as regarding application of painter's tape.

1: Do not become so involved in concentrating that you put the wrong end of the razor blade in your mouth.

2: When you have a very old house with character (I.E. has settled over the past hundred years) put the roll down on its side or else you will have to keep getting up and chasing the little blue bastard.

Note 2B: Cats and dogs do not aid in the speedy recovery of your roll of painter’s tape.

Ugh, my aching back and shoulders. Still, poor Emile has it worse. While I was doing the tape he went up to the attic to start tossing down all the old books we have stored up there. It is hot and nasty and he forgot to wear a mask. Coughing a storm no matter the fan is help venting.

Today’s comfort food: Supersized family KFC meal! Not the best thing, because 1st meal came late and of course we overdid it in spite of oaths not too. Ah well, was worth the moans and groans. Yum!

Alas, there is no beer. Liquor mart is strategically placed right next to Home Depot (wonder why? ) yet I was informed that inebriation might not be of assistance. Who says? I am an Artist, by gods, I need booze!

No go, thus the spicy fried chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy, coleslaw and biscuits went down with lemonade. Oh, the tragedy!

5p.m. and Emile just popped in asking if I wanted to start going through the books? Son of a...can’t I have at least fifteen minutes?

No problem, know it has to be done by tomorrow and it will, but not just now. I am pooped...unless the local Mexican restaurant could send over one of their zombies? Ooo-la-la, talk about high octane go juice!

Then again, I am about to paint over murals, not create new ones. Should put up one of those “Countdown till **” thingies. Death of the murals. Think that is effecting Emile more than me. Keeps asking if I am sure I want to paint over them?

Of course I do not want to do it, but come on. Not like there are going to be a couple of nutcases like ourselves going to want to but the place. Which is really too bad. This house was made for families, not a business, which will be a 50-50 chance of.

Man, what a shame. Our back yard is gorgeous. Far easier for me to paint over my murals (already told Emile that is my job. I can handle it, no problem,) than see someone come in with a dozer and turn the place into another parking lot.

Ah well, what will be will be. Besides, there is a cool group working to turn the old, small factory building down the block into a community garden and children’s playground.

Hmm, wonder if we can contact them, donate some of our fruit trees for the park? I would love to do that. Gave up long ago on getting fruit ourselves, however, the wild birds we see are worth it. (The pudgy, little bastards. LOL!)

Okay-d, on that note I am out of here. Try to get a little more work done on my stories and then tackle next project. Going to be 24-7 around here till Friday. Attempt at having one day off before we vend those two holistic fairs over the weekend.

Argh! I need a vacation from my vacation!

So toodles for now, gang!

Melissa
